Athletic Signings

Receiving scholarship offers to play on the collegiate level is a special experience for a family and the school community.  SCPS wants to honor these future collegiate athletes in a special manner.

This year, we will have 3-4 athletic signing assemblies where we can gather the entire Upper School in the Eckburg Center to be a part of the signing ceremony.  We will place the signing table on the stage and offer any student athlete the opportunity to have a ceremonial signing and recognition.   We will select days that center around the National Signing Day or early signing season for different sports.  Nov. 9 is a Signing Day for athletes other than Football, Basketball and Soccer.  We have set aside Tuesday, November 15 at 2:40 for our first Signing Ceremony for Upper School students.  This event is an open invitation for any friends or family to also attend this ceremony to enjoy recognition for this prestigious honor.

An informal tradition of cake and decorations has occurred in the past.  We want to allow families to do just that.  We will set aside a six foot table for each student athlete’s family to display memorabilia, awards, cake or photos for the students, teachers, and media to see immediately following the ceremonial signing.

Over the next month we will select other days near the National Signing Day in February followed by a late spring signing for those students who receive offers later in the year.

Thank you for joining us in making these dedicated ceremonies special for your talented student whom you have shared with SCPS!
