Savannah Christian Preparatory School is pleased to announce that Cathy Royal (Upper School History), Christine Holmes (Middle School English and Study Skills), Kelly Wells (Kindergarten), and Christine Wigand (2nd Grade) were recognized by the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) as Master Teachers. Master Teachers represent Savannah Christian for their innovative and creative leadership in the classroom and among their peers.
To qualify as a master teacher, candidates must go through a nomination process. Nominees submit a detailed application, five letters of recommendation, and a portfolio of their classroom work and collaboration with other educators. The final step is observation through unedited videos of the candidate’s classroom teaching.
These Master Teachers join Savannah Christian’s previous recipients of this honor in representing the school. They include: Mary Kelley, Joan Connelly, Sherry Oddi, Melanie Harmon, Jackie Wetmore, Amanda Ringham, and Terry Aultman.
