Homecoming Week for the Upper School has arrived. Here is a quick reminder for each day.
Monday ~ Pajama Day ~ All School Bonfire and Pep Rally @ 6 PM
Tuesday ~ CLASSES CANCELLED FOR FUNERAL Lip Sync 7 – 9 PM (Upper School Only)
Wednesday ~ Safari Day ~ Homecoming Court Chapel @ 12:25 PM (Eckburg) ~ Dodge Ball Finals
Thursday ~ Movie Day ~ Middle School Athletic Night (Football, Volleyball, Tennis)
Friday ~ Raider Pride: Red/White ~ Lunch on the Lawn ~ Service Project ~ Pep Rally ~ Claxton Game @ 7:30 PM
Saturday ~ Homecoming Dance @ 8 – 10 PM
Highlight of the Week!
This past week the Raider Softball was playing at home on Tuesday. Following the pre-game warm-ups and introductions, the National Anthem was begun. At the same moment, the SCPS Marching Band was practicing adjacent to the Eckburg Center. As the Anthem started, the band was brought to attention facing the flag at Grainger Field by Mr. Anthony Broadnax our Director of Bands. One of our parents pulled to the side of the road and likewise came to attention until the Anthem was complete. Kudos to Mr. Broadnax and the Band and to all who honor the flag.
Junior College Tour
The Junior Class College Tour will be held November 16th and 17th. The tour is optional. Excursions Unlimited will be utilized for the tour. The total expense for the tour is $220 per student. The Excursions travel fee is $195 for overnight accommodations, 1 dinner, 1 breakfast and 1 Atlanta Hawks Game Ticket. An additional $25 is needed to cover the cost of lunch for both days. The group will be eating lunch at Georgia College & State University on the 16th and the University of Georgia on the 17th. A minimum of 50 students are required for the tour.
Juniors have received a copy of the permission form and itinerary in hard copy form and an email with the information was sent as well. Please complete the permission form and return to Ms. Hardy with the $70 Down Payment by Monday, 3 October. The balance of $150 ($220 Total) will be due on Wednesday, 1 November.
