Several Upper School students explored their interests in science with some engaging summer activities:
Savannah Engineering Academy: Amelia Britt, Michala Calvert, Hannah Smolinski, Harrison Smith, Coleson Jeffries and Sam Bignault participated in the Savannah Engineering Academy held at AASU. The Savannah Engineering Academy fosters engineering development through hands-on engagement, academic guidance, and professional interaction. Students met each day for a week and studied five different types of engineering fields, visited local industries and had the opportunity to speak with engineers in the workplace.
The Physics of Roller Coasters: Faiza Yousuf spent a week at Georgia Tech in Atlanta studying the Physics of Roller Coasters! During the summer camp, she learned how to analyze the motion of roller coasters through video analysis. She wrote code using Python software as well as designed and modeled her own roller coaster before spending a day at Six Flags over Georgia!
