To our Middle School families–

Exciting changes are in the works to welcome our Middle School “Home” to Chatham Parkway. Dr. Harmon will host two informational meetings on the DeRenne Campus to share the progress made, our next steps, and what you will see in the next few months on Chatham Parkway. We hope to see you at one of the meetings below:

Wrestling

1. Practice starts Tuesday October 25th and then on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5pm-6pm at Chatham Parkway wrestling room.

2. The season will run until the end of January/Beginning of February.

Basketball

JV Girls Basketball Tryouts

Any 8th grade girl interested in trying out for the JV Girls Basketball Team, needs to speak with Coach Kerkau this week for tryout information. Also make sure you have a current physical on file at the middle school.

Basketball tryouts begin Monday October 31st from 3:30-5:30 pm in the Eckburg Center. Any 8th grader that does not make the JV team will still be able to participate on the 8th grade team.

Tennis

The Middle School Tennis Team played a Match at Home vs. Glynn Academy Middle School from Brunswick on Tuesday the 18th. Our Girls won 4 – 3! We are especially proud of our ladies that work extremely hard to win week after week!

Our Guys fell 1 – 4 but we always appreciate their heartfelt effort.

Winning Highlights:

#1 Singles – Alex Hoffman, #2 Singles Lily Beth Redick, #3 Singles Lexi Polychrones, #3 Singles Joshua Skalla, #1 Doubles Alli DeYoung and Caitlyn Skalla. Congratulations to our winners!

We had a very special doubles match on Tuesday – Emma Lee and Lucy Smith Biemiller played for 2 hours and did not end up with the win, the score was 5 – 8 but the match was one for the books! The girls gave it everything they had! It was exciting to witness their Raider determination! Thank you very much to Coach Theresa Portzer, who officiated over the long match!

The Team Party was enjoyed by all on Thursday afternoon and big THANKS to all of the wonderful parents that made that happen!
