Jackson Parker recently signed a National Letter of Intent to swim for Berry College.  Jackson is a senior at Savannah Christian Preparatory School where he has attended since the first grade.  When Jackson is not studying for his Advanced Placement classes and maintaining a 3.3 GPA, he swims for the Georgia Coastal Aquatic Team (GCAT).

He has been a year-round swimmer for GCAT since he was 6 years old.  Jackson competed at the Senior State Meet in Athens, GA several years as a senior swimmer.  Despite enjoying the freestyle stroke most, he has competed at the state meet swimming freestyle, backstroke and butterfly.  Jackson trains six days a week for three hours a day with some of those days holding two different training sessions.  His senior coach is Bill Forrester who has been an inspiration and a mentor to Jackson since he was a young swimmer.  Coach Bill was a bronze medal winner in the 1976 Olympics.

Berry College is located in Rome, GA where Jackson will officially become a Berry Viking in the fall of 2016.  Jackson is currently “Undeclared” as a major of study, however, he has an interest in Pre-Law.   A member of Isle of Hope United Methodist Church, Jackson has served on several mission trips supporting the Appalachian Service Project.  He is the middle child of Jack and Sarah Parker of Savannah.
