GIRLS ENGINEER IT DAY
The Savannah Coastal Empire Society of Women Engineers is hosting its annual Girls Engineer It Day (GEID), Saturday, September 17, 2016. The event is held at Woodville-Tompkins High School from 12:30 – 5:30 pm. In celebrating the 5th year anniversary of GEID, organizers have moved the event from January to September. The SCPS Science and Engineering Club typically registers a group of 20+ students for the event each year. GEID is promoted as a female event, but male students are allowed and attend every year. There are also information sessions for parents conducted during the student activities and parents attend for free.

Forms for the group registration are due back by Tuesday, September 6 in order to take advantage of group registration.

SCHOOL WIDE MUSICAL 2017
OPEN AUDITIONS are being held for our 14th Annual SCPS School-Wide Musical, “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella”, to be performed at the Trustees Theater on March 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th, 2017. Please note these dates are the beginning of Spring Break. Auditions are open to ALL students 3rd through 12th grade.
Preliminary Auditions will again be held this year. These auditions are not mandatory, just strongly recommended. These will be held on Saturday, September 17th between 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Each Student will NEED: One Minute Monologue & One Minute of a Capella Music to be performed individually for our judges. Students will also be taught the audition dance & song that will be used for the Main Auditions.
Main Auditions will be held on Saturday, October 1st in the Eckburg Center: Lower School Auditions: 9 am, Middle School Auditions: 12:30 pm, and Upper School Auditions: 4 pm. Each Student will need: -Enthusiastic, Positive Attitudes, Energy and smiles. If you have a legitimate conflict with this audition date please contact our Director, Donna Stembridge, immediately at dstembridge@savcps.com.
Call Backs (for Main Cast Parts) will be held on Monday, October 10th, 6:00 p.m. (You will receive notification if you need to attend and please note that this is a school holiday.)

Mandatory Parent Meeting for cast selected: Tuesday, November 1st, at 6:30 p.m. in the Eckburg Center
