Great things continue to happen at Savannah Christian Prep’s Middle School! Mike Crosby, Middle School Principal, has recently been notified by the Council for American Private Education (CAPE) that the Middle School has been selected as one of the TOP 50 Private Schools in America. This distinction ensures that CAPE will recommend the Middle School to the U.S. Department of Education to receive the National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award!

In its nomination by CAPE, Savannah Christian Prep Middle School met the criteria of one of America’s highest performing schools. The faculty and administration worked for several months preparing a 20+ page document detailing the exceptional education experience as well as the curriculum and co-curricular opportunities provided to our students. Most notably, these students’ nationally normed standardized test scores emphasized their achievement; they performed in the top 15% in both reading and mathematics.

While school officials must wait eight months to learn if they will be officially named a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education, they ask for prayers of thanksgiving for their outstanding students and teachers and for God’s continued blessings on the school.

Being named a TOP 50 Private School in America and earning a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award may sound familiar! In 2011 the Lower School was awarded the National Blue Ribbon Award. School administrators, faculty and staff are thrilled to have the opportunity for the spotlight now to fall on their exceptional sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students.

Each year since 1982, the U.S. Department of Education has sought to identify schools where students attain and maintain high academic goals. In the past 30 years more than 6,000 of America’s schools have received this coveted award. This past fall more than 250 public and 50 private schools were honored at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C.
