Snapshots & Happenings
Special thanks to Amy Martin from the lower school who spoke at our chapel program this week. Mrs. Martin spoke to the students about the historical roots of SCPS and our founder, Reverend George Akins. Thanks for sharing Mrs. Martin!
Members of Student Leadership recognize Ms. Rosa Brown and Mr. Lewis Wright for everything they do to keep SCPS Middle School up and running every day.
THANK YOU!
to loose the bonds of wickedness,
to undo the straps of the yoke,
to let the oppressed[b] go free,
and to break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry
and bring the homeless poor into your house;
when you see the naked, to cover him,
and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 Then shall your light break forth like the dawn,
and your healing shall spring up speedily;
your righteousness shall go before you;
the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
On December 8th, the SCPS band performed for a packed crowd of parents and special friends. Pictured below is our very own Mrs. Jenee Hobgood, conducting a Christmas arrangement with the 6th grade band. The 7th/8th grade band performed as well as the SCPS concert band. Great job to all the students!
After researching a geologic era, Ms. Rea’s 6th grade Earth Science students created interactive posters where all 4 eras are represented. On presentation day the students take a walk through the geologic eras, interacting with the posters and gathering information.
Ms. Oddi and Ms. Davis combined their GA History and Native American Studies classes to recreate history and the Trail of Tears.
