Athletic Involvement at SCPS:
- Defensive coordinator (1973-82), head football coach (1982-90), head basketball coach, and athletic director
- Assistant principal for 14 years before becoming principal for 17 years
- Boy’s and girls’ golf coach for many years
Why should the Nominee be considered for induction into The Raider Athletic Hall of Fame?
- From 1973-1997, coached the basketball team to 427 victories
- Head football coach from 1982 to 1991, winning two GISA state titles
- Coached golf until his retirement in 2011, claiming eight state crowns, including five in a row from 1998 to 2002
- Won a girls’ state golf title in 2006
- Won seven state football titles and a pair of basketball titles in the Georgia Independent School Association
- Was a part of 18 state titles in three sports and finished second six times
- Inducted into the Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Fame
