Fourteen years ago Victoria Thomas started Pre-kindergarten at Savannah Christian Prep. She was a four-year-old with a soft smile and bright future. Now, Victoria has completed her career as a Raider being named Salutatorian of the Class of 2016.

During her time at SCPS, Victoria has been a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Savannah Science Seminar and more. She has been recognized for excellence in leadership of the Savannah Christian Varsity Volleyball Team.

Last year Victoria was awarded the highest honors for Advanced Physics, Life of Jesus, Advanced Spanish III, Advanced English II, Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry and more. Because of her outstanding academic performance she has been named a Furman Scholar, Converse College Junior Scholar, a Columbia College Scholar, Presbyterian College Junior Fellow Scholar, Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award Recipient and a University of Georgia Certificate of Merit.

Dana Goodman, Upper School English teacher, said of our Salutatorian, “Victoria is not only very bright academically, but she has a true shepherd’s heart, such a serene spirit. She is a positive influence and blessing to all around her.”

In addition to her impressive academic achievements, Victoria dedicates much of her time to volunteering through service. She is a member of the Teen Advisory Board, the Teddy Bear Clinic at the Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah Marathon and as a sponsor for Compassion International. Victoria also participates in mission work with Skidaway Baptist Church.

“Victoria is one of the kindest, most compassionate young people you will ever meet,” Upper School Math Department Chair Jackie Wetmore said. “She loves Jesus with all her heart and is always looking for an opportunity to minister to others.”

Victoria is graduating with a 99.48 GPA and plans to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology in the fall.
