The Yale Young Global Scholars Program (YYGS) is an academic and leadership-development program for talented high school students. YYGS is administered and hosted by Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, and their two-week residential sessions in June, July, and August draw students together from all over the world. 2016 Heels for Success program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

HEELS FOR SUCCESS
Heels for Success is a one-day summer program to help academically-talented, rising sophomores and juniors prepare for college. Over the course of the day, students will:

  • Learn techniques for approaching the ACT
  • Explore the Carolina campus and its wide-ranging academic opportunities
  • Learn how to manage the college application process

The National Institute of American History and Democracy (NIAHD), a joint project of the College of William & Mary and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, invited students to apply to the NIAHD Pre-Collegiate Summer Program in Early American History. The highly successful Pre-Collegiate Program accepts students who will be rising juniors, rising seniors and graduating seniors by this summer. Students earn four hours of college credit for an exciting, in depth study in early American history.

Foundation for Economic Education

Applications are now open for the sought-after opportunity to attend a 3-day high school student seminar this summer. FEE is a non-political, non-profit company and teach economics, leadership, & entrepreneurship for 3 days at various college campuses throughout the U.S.  My daughter went last summer and had an amazing life-changing experience at Berry College in Rome, GA with a full scholarship.

*Having attended a FEE seminar will look really good on her college applications!

  • There are 5 seminars for teens (14-17 yrs) and
  • 5 for college students/young adults (18-26 yrs)

The University of Georgia Terry College of Business

High school sophomores, juniors and seniors get to preview “college life” by lodging in UGA residence halls, eating in the university’s award-winning dining halls, and attending a variety of instructional programs. The evenings are filled with fun outings, entertaining diversions, and time to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow SRP participants.

Students will create lifelong friendships and gain a competitive advantage for college by acquiring the networking skills for internships and career advancement.

  1. The Accounting Program(ARP)  – The Terry College of Business will host the ARP on June 29 – July 2, 2016. This program is open to all high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Students will hear about career options from some of the state’s top accounting firms, learn about business etiquette and how to write a resume, and develop financial literacy and leadership skills. Tuition is $95 thanks to generous corporate sponsorship. Applications are due March 25, 2016.
  1. The Terry Business Academy(TBA) – The Terry College will host the TBA on June 12 – 18, 2016. The program is available to high school juniors and seniors. Students will explore business majors at UGA and potential career paths, visits corporate headquarters and innovative companies in Athens and Atlanta, and enjoy golf lessons at the top-rated UGA golf course. Tuition is $495 thanks to generous corporate sponsorship. Applications are due March 25, 2016.

Auburn University Samuel Ginn College of Engineering

The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering invites you to be a part of our Women in Engineering Camp this summer!! This camp is a girls-only residential camp that will focus on issues important to women in the field of engineering. Sessions will be led by women engineering organizations, faculty members and current Auburn engineering students.

University of North Georgia

Interested in Learning Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Russian or Other Language?  The Federal Service Language Academy this summer at the University of North Georgia is for you!  Preferred application deadline is April 1st, with final deadline of May 1st.

Students have a choice of learning Arabic, Chinese, Russian, German, Korean, French, Cherokee, Japanese or Portuguese.  They will also learn about federal service careers where knowing a critical foreign language and culture is important, such as the FBI, Department of State, CIA, the military, and more.  Registration is now open.

For three weeks, your rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors will live in a modern residence hall on our scenic campus in Dahlonega, Georgia, site of the first major gold rush in the U.S.  They will be taught by highly trained instructors using communicative language teaching methods.

Your rising high school juniors also have an opportunity to study abroad in France or Germany if they have at least two years of high school French or German.

Registration is now open for the 2016 GenCyber Camp and Health Sciences Summer Academy. Because of the success of last year’s camps, its popularity has grown tremendously! These summer academies have limited space available. Augusta University would love for your rising high school juniors and seniors to apply and represent your school. Brewton-Parker College Summer Bridge

The Admissions Department of Brewton-Parker College invites students to consider their Summer Bridge program.

Summer Bridge intends to help those who might not have received the necessary SAT or ACT scores needed for acceptance to the college of their choice. Summer Bridge is a noncommittal, remedial program in which we help students earn up to 12 hours of college credit while working on their Math and English needs. In sum, we help students stay on track who would otherwise graduate behind schedule.

At Brewton-Parker College, it is our goal to help students achieve their academic goals. We pride our Summer Bridge Program on personalized attention to ensure ease in transitioning from high school to college. In order to maximize the attention given to our students, only 40 seats will be available.

The benefits of the Summer Bridge include:

·         Cost effectiveness- The Summer Bridge will grant you college credit to help you graduate on time, saving up to $12,000 in tuition, room, and board.
