The upper school will be hosting a Sole Hope shoe cutting party on Friday, March 3rd, in the cafeteria at 6:00 p.m. Sole Hope is an organization that seeks to help children and families in Uganda who are greatly affected by jiggers which are sand fleas that burrow into feet and lay egg sacs. Sole Hope assists these families by hosting jigger removal clinics and providing shoes (made from jeans) and proper preventative education for families.
Over the next couple of weeks we will have boxes around the upper school to collect old, used jeans. In order to participate, please bring SHARP fabric cutting scissors. If possible, we also ask that you bring plastic folders and a $5 donation. Food and drinks will be provided. Also, we may need some help collecting money at the door, organizing supplies when the party is over, chaperoning, etc. If any parent or teacher is interested in volunteering, please contact Ms. Sarah Dressel. Last year over 100 students attended, and SCPS was able to provide over 120 pairs of shoes! This is a great way to spend time with friends while serving for a great cause! Hope to see you there!
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10
You can attend a Summit Student Conference Tennessee! If you are interested talk to Miss Brown in room 29.
Summit changes the lives of thousands of students every summer. Act now to save a seat because attendance from SCPS is limited to ten students.
