The 2017 Boys’ Varsity and JV Soccer teams experienced a building year under the leadership of Coach Dan Osborne. Because of the nature of the season as a training year, neither team advanced beyond the conventional season games, but many highlights still defined a year of hard work and persistence. One particular moment, described by first-year player Will Hobbs, involved a series of penalty kicks (culminating with a kick by Mingi Kim) to beat Calvary in double overtime on March 23rd. Though the Raiders didn’t advance into the GHSA Playoff Tournament, the varsity team still concluded the season with an 8-1 win against McIntosh County and a 2-2 tie against Tattnall County. The JV team, despite a series of loses and a tie throughout their season, still gained valuable experience and a team of improving veteran players for succeeding years. Both teams will return in 2018 strengthened by experienced players and  the triumphs and defeats of the 2017 year.
