The 2016 Raider tennis team had to overcome graduating two of the three singles players from last year. Only senior Marc Biemiller remained from last year’s singles roster, and freshmen Cole Goodwin and Nick Jowers filled the remaining slots. Though the boys struggled at first, they defeated Calvary twice to finish the season with a region record of 2–2, making the Raiders the number three seed at the area tournament. Senior first doubles team Sam Bignault and Champ Easter were one of the Raiders’ best assets this year and led the team in the struggle against Brookstone who eliminated the boys from the tournament. The Raider tennis team has a bright future ahead of it with four freshman in the starting line up who are all returning next year with another year of experience under their belts.
