We hope all of our Raider families had a safe, healthy, and blessed Christmas! It was great to have you all back on campus this week–

January 6–Express Lunch

January 10–PTF Meeting, 8:30, CHATHAM PARKWAY OLD GYM

Dr. Harmon will be giving a bus tour of the campus.

January 13–Conference day (no school for students)

If you would like to meet with any of your child’s teachers on conference day, please call the Middle School office to set up conference time.  The number is 912/355-2693 Ext. 100Friday, January 13th and Monday, January 16th are holidays for students.

January 13–Middle School Basketball Appreciation Night (Eckburg Center)

All 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th grade boys and girls on the SCPS basketball team should wear their jerseys to the Upper School games on Friday 1-13. Please arrive and watch all of the games starting with the Boys JV 4:30, Girls Varsity 6:00, Boys Varsity 7:30All Middle School players will be announced by their respective coaches. Players should meet in the hallway by the trophies  at 6:45 to be introduced prior to the Boys Varsity warmups.

Debra Lee, who teaches Bible, Multicontent Tutoring, and Student Support, leads a professional development training session on using thinking maps in all content areas. Thinking maps help students to create concrete images of abstract thoughts and to give processes by which to extend their thinking creatively and critically.

How fast and how far? 8th grade students in Ms. Gill’s Physical Science class begin their study of physics. Students record time and distance data and calculate speed as part of a physics lab day.
