Check - Out Policies:
     Students in grades 2-8 may check out two books at a time for two weeks. Pre -K, Kindergarten, and first grade students may check out one book at a time.  A charge of $.05 per day, excluding weekends and holidays will be charged for all overdue books.  A maximum charge per book will be $1.00.  Report cards will be held in the school office until all fines are paid at the end of the year.  Replacement cost will be charged for all lost or badly damaged books.

Reading Counts:
     We use the Scholastic Reading Counts  program as our computerized reading program beginning after Christmas in Grade 1.  Students may take tests in their classrooms or the Media Center. To see a list of tests owned by SCPS, click here.

Scheduling:
     The Media Center operates under a fixed scheduling policy.  All lower school classes are scheduled to come into the Media Center for a session each week.  Every other week the Media Specialist has a class for instruction in media skill and literature appreciation.  On opposite weeks students check out books and take Reading Counts tests.  Students are welcome to visit the library throughout the week and check out books at any time.
