Dates to Know

NEW: Due to events we are planning for our last few days here at our DeRenne Campus, student will not have Q4 exams (May 23-May 25). Students in Honors Spanish I and Honors Algebra will take those exams as these courses are for high school credit; Ms. Lewis and Ms. Dudley will make students/parents aware of when these will be given before May 23.

 

Elective Course Requests are now available through ParentsWeb. Please have your selections made by Friday, May 12. To access ParentsWeb, click the following link:

  • May 11 & 12–Middle School Drama Performance, “There’s a Monster in My Closet”, Eckburg  @ 7 pm
  • May 15–8th grade Awards and Recognitions, 6:30 pm
  • May 16, 17 & 18th —Cheer tryouts. Sign up at the main office and pick up a packet if interested in being a part of our Middle School Cheer teams.  The deadline to sign up and return packets is May 12th.
  • May 17–6th and 7th grade Awards and Recognitions, 8:45 am
  • May 19–Field Day

As the middle school continues to celebrate our homecoming return back to Chatham Parkway, the following information is listed for each half day’s activities:

Tuesday May 23rd Half – Day “Regular uniform day” 8:30 to 12

Students will participate in morning activities with their respective grade-level teachers.

Wednesday May 24th “Non-uniform day” 8:30-12

Shuttle buses will not run to DeRenne in the morning.  If your child is a shuttle rider, supervision will be provided by middle school staff beginning at 7:50 at the Chatham Parkway cafeteria.

Middle school students who are dropped off at the DeRenne campus will be welcomed as usual. Buses will transport students to Chatham Parkway – arriving by 9am.

Students will take a “walking tour” of the Chatham Parkway campus and facilities. Students will get acquainted with their “new” campus while stopping temporarily for a brief snack at the picnic area.

Students who normally ride the afternoon shuttle can be picked up at 11:30 at Eckburg. Students returning to the DeRenne campus will be dismissed at 12pm for parent pick up.

 Thursday May 25th “Non-uniform day” 8:30-12

Students will be gather in the middle school gym for an entertaining movie and social time with snacks being sold during the movie. The day will conclude with a special balloon releasing ceremony to welcome the DeRenne campus’s new church family and to signal the end of our journey here as we head to Chatham Parkway.

2017 Math Review Sessions

 Wish you had a way to give your student a head start in math for the new school year?

Ø Taught by SCPS’s Jackie Wetmore, with 25 yrs. experience teaching 3rd-12th math

 

Ages: students entering 4th through 12th grades

Dates: July 24th – 28th

Registration: Register online atmathmastersreview.wikispaces.com. More information is attached. Space is limited; classes will be filled in the order that registration forms are received. Each review will be offered only once, so register immediately for best selection. Classes are open to SCPS and non-SCPS students alike.
